Alchemist Clayworks is a Ceramic and Pottery studio located in Renfrew-Collingwood to offer an inclusive environment to create. We are dedicated to bringing together artists, hobbyists, and other creatives in a community setting to explore their creative endeavors.
We offer a variety of classes utilizing a different making processes with various levels of experience to accommodate anyone interested in getting dirty with clay.
Differences between classes, demos, and membership:
Classes are a 6-week programs focused on the objective of that class
Demos are 1-day specialized programs with visiting artists
Memberships are designed for advanced students to work on their own.
Register for classes
Registration opens up 2 weeks before the class opens
What do I need for class?
A good attitude and willingness to get dirty, we are here for fun.
Tools-we offer starter clay tool kits and buckets at for $30 or you can bring your own.
Trim your nails, it makes throwing easier.
What if class students miss a class or need more time?
Sign up for a drop-in time slot! Drop-in's are a 3-hour time slots available to current students where they are able to book outside of their usual class time.
Each student is allotted 1 drop-in per class term. Additional drop-in's maybe booked for $30.
As we are a smaller studio, drop-in times are very limited. Please schedule accordingly
Memberships
Memberships are for students who have attended an advance class or can display their foundational understanding of clay.
Memberships are for advanced students to work independently in 3-hour time slots through out the day.
As space is limited, please book a head and plan accordingly.
We kindly ask you to refrain from asking questions of teachers while classes are taking place.
Firings and Glazing
Bisque and glaze firings are included in your class.
We supply a variety of different glazes and terra sigillata for students use.
Glaze being, a form of tricky chemistry, outside glazes are prohibited unless approved by staff.
Finished work will be available for pick-up a week after
As the ceramic process is a complicated process we try our best to ensure the safety of your working in the firing and glazing process. But as we are humans, and the kiln gods see all the in the studio, accidents happen and some work doesn't make it out in one piece.
Refund Policy:
Life happens, if you are unable to attend one of our classes you will have 7-days before the beginning of the term to withdraw. You may either use the class credit for a later term or request a refund with a $50 administrative fee.
Unfortunately no refunds will be issued for class withdrawals 7-days before the beginning of term.
Credit for a future class may be granted if the spot in the current class is filled for a $50 administrative fee.
A third option would be to transfer your course to a family member or friend.
